Today in Rock History

1966
The Jefferson Airplane release their debut album, 'Jefferson Airplane Takes Off'.

The personnel differ from the later "classic" lineup and the music is more folk-rock than psychedelic. "It's No Secret" was released as a single.

1969
Hendrix debuts a new band, Gypsy Sun and Rainbows, at Woodstock. The group includes Billy Cox on bass, Mitch Mitchell on drums, Larry Lee on rhythm guitar and Juma Sultan and Jerry Velez on percussion. He takes the stage at 7:30 in the morning, and well ya, the rest is history.

1985
The Power of Love by Huey Lewis & The News was a hit. Later to be used on the Back to the Future soundtrack. I don't remember this video but you can't go wrong with Doc and the Dolorian.
