Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People

Here it is in all it's schlocky glory, the 1977 cult classic "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People". Another piece of cinema lore that probably would of faded into obscurity if it wasn't for the great Patton Oswalt and his bit from his album Werewolves & Lollipops where he reminds us all that someone actually sat down and spent time away from their family to not only write this movie but eventually get it into production. The title pretty much sums up the whole movie, it's a bed in a haunted house that eats people. Pretty heady stuff. If you'd like to get the full rundown on this movie check out the wiki page here.

Halloween Horror Movie Picks

Each year I like to put together a short list of some of my favorite horror movies. Last year I steered more towards classic gore movies but this year it's just a random selection of great movies to help complete your Halloween. I tried to find full movies where I could on YouTube but unfortunately there's only trailers for some of these. My selections this year range from new to old and silly to down right disgusting. Looking at you Serbian Film. Most of these, if not all of them, can be found on Netflix and if you do some digging on line I'm sure you can dig up whatever you want. Let's kick things off with the 1992 Australian classic Dead Alive. Before Peter Jackson was telling the tale of hobbits and rings he was honing his craft as a director who wasn't afraid to throw some blood and guts in your face. Early in his career Jackson directed cult classics like Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, and our first flick here, Dead Alive. Lionel, a Mama's boy, has the unwanted honor of having to look after his overbearingly evil mother. He ends up falling in love with a local woman who believes that they're destined together. In a moment of intentional sabotage on one of their dates, his mother is bitten by a mysterious creature that ends up zombifying her. It's only a matter of time before she rises from the dead as a powerful, bloodthirsty zombie. From there she starts infecting residents of the town, Lionel, and anything else that gets in her way.

Suspiria (full movie 1977)

A horror classic from the legendary Dario Argento!! On a stormy night, an American dancer Suzy Bannion arrives in Freiburg coming from New York to join a famous and expensive ballet school for three years of training. The next morning after her arrivial, she is informed by the director of the school that a student she met leaving the place on the previous night was violently murdered and the police are investigating the crime. She becomes friends with another student, Sara, and then she realizes that the house is indeed a coven of evil witches hell bent on murder.

A Serbian Film (full movie 2010)

Ask anyone who's seen this movie and you'll get one of two reactions. Either the person will say they couldn't make it all the through or they turned it off half way through because it made them feel sick and guilty for having even watched it. Below is the full movie, you've been warned. This movie will stain your memory and question everything you know to be decent in the world. Seriously, I'm not being dramatic. This movie is 75 kinds of fucked up. It's still banned in most countries. In Serbia, the retired porn star Milos is married with his beloved wife Marija and they have a little son, Peter, that is their pride and joy. The family is facing financial difficulties, but out of the blue, Milos is contacted by the porn actress Lejla that offers him a job opportunity in an art film. Milos is introduced to the director Vukmir that offers a millionaire contract to Milos to act in a film. However, Vukmir neither show the screenplay nor tell the story to Milos. Milos discuss the proposal with Marija and he signs the contract. But sooner he finds that Vukmir and his crew are involved in sick snuff films of pedophilia, necrophilia and torture and there is no way back to him and maybe it is too late to protect his family.

The Devils (1971)

Cardinal Richelieu and his power-hungry entourage seek to take control of seventeenth-century France, but need to destroy Father Grandier - the priest who runs the fortified town that prevents them from exerting total control. So they seek to destroy him by setting him up as a warlock in control of a devil-possessed nunnery, the mother superior of which is sexually obsessed by him. A mad witch-hunter is brought in to gather evidence against the priest, ready for the big trial.

The Human Centipede (2009)

Two pretty but ditsy American girls are on a road trip through Europe. In Germany, they end up alone at night with a broken car in the woods. They search for help and find an isolated villa. The next day, they awaken to find themselves trapped in a terrifying makeshift basement hospital along with a Japanese man. An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However, his three "patients" are not about to be separated but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric systems. By doing so, he plans to bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy, the human centipede.

Infection (2004)

I stumbled across this great movie a few years back on FearNet and it instantly became one of my new favorites. If there's one thing the Japanese know it's horror. In a general hospital facing bankruptcy and massive budget cuts, the reduced staff is working under severe stress. While tending to severely burned patient with Dr. Uozumi and two other nurses, Dr. Akiba and the nurse commit an error, injecting sodium chlorate into the patient and killing him. Dr. Uozumi convinces the team to forge the report to save their careers. Meanwhile, an ambulance leaves a patient in the emergency ward with a lethal infection. When the muscles and internal organs of the patient liquefy, Dr. Kiyoshi Akai convinces his two colleagues to examine and research the virus, leading the employees of the night shift to a tragic end.

Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007)

I was a little confused when I heard that someone was remaking the classic Halloween but when I heard that someone was Rob Zombie my interest was peaked. It's hard to go back and remake one of the greatest horror movies of all time. I was worried that the new 2007 remake would just be an updated version of the original but Zombie took things a step further. He gave the whole story and background of little Michael Meyers ad what turned him into the psychopath that we've all come to love. The movie picks up with little Mikey around the age of 10-11 and we get a peak into his dysfunctional home life, his battle his neighborhood bullies and finally the moment when he snaps and becomes one of the most famous slashers cinema has ever seen. Like I said, I was super skeptical about a remake but Rob Zombie knocked it out of the park.

The Return of the Living Dead (full movie 1985)

When two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.

Cast Announced For Next "Vacation" Movie

I thought the corpse on this one was dead and buried but it looks like New Line Cinema is going to beat the horse one more time and release another chapter in the saga of the Vacation movies. This time around it's Rusty's turn to take the family on a wild and crazy vacation similar to the 1983 original. Rusty will be played by Ed Helms(Hangover) and Christina Applegate as his wife. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo have been confirmed for a couple of small cameos. The latest casting rumble is that Charlie Day, also known as Charlie from It's Always Sunny......, will have a bit part as a river rafting instructor. Guessing the family goes on a little white water rafting adventure and hilarity ensues with the wacky river guide. Chris Hemsworth(Thor) stars as Stone Crandall, an  upcoming anchorman and Audrey's husband. Audrey's part has not been casted yet. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein wrote the script and will be making their directorial debut. It'll be interesting to see where this take this new version and judging by the cast and crew it looks like it might have a chance. A formal release date has not been set.

Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon

Shep Gordon is the consummate Hollywood insider. Though he isn't a household name, Gordon has become a beacon in the industry, beloved by the countless stars he has encountered throughout his storied career. Shep is known for managing the careers of Alice Cooper as well as stints with Blondie, Luther Vandross and Raquel Welch, among others -- a career that began with a chance encounter in 1968 with Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. He even found time to invent the "Celebrity Chef." Though the chef as star is part of the culture now, it took Shep's imagination, and his moral outrage at how the chefs were being treated, to monetize the culinary arts into the multi-billion dollar industry it is today. Personal friends with the Dalai Lama through his philanthropic endeavors with the Tibet Fund and the guardian of four children, Gordon's unlikely story will be told by those who know him best, his pals, including Alice Cooper, Michael Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Anne Murray, Willie Nelson, Emeril Lagasse and more. Directed by Mike Myers

Leonardo DiCaprio Will Join Meshuggah On Stage

If you haven't seen the mash-up video of Meshuggah's "Rational Glaze" and 'Wolf of Wall Street' you're missing out. In the movie Leo's character, Jordan Belfort, fires up his team of investment bankers before they hit the phones to rob everyone of their money. The team gets fired up by Leo screaming some motivational non sense into a microphone. They all dance around and pound their chests. From the outside looking in it's a bit off putting but I'm sure back in the day when the movie takes place it made perfect sense. The mash-up video is below and went viral pretty quick. Word on the street is that Leo DiCaprio will join Meshuggah on stage for a rare live performance of the scene. According to Gigwise, a petition started circulating among Meshuggah fans to get Leo on stage with the band. DiCaprio's PR team caught wind of it and Leo agreed to join the band on stage to recreate the scene. He'll appear with the band on the final stop of their 25th anniversay tour in New York. No word on what exactly will take place but if he can fire up a room of nerdy bankers my guess is the crowd at the Meshuggah show will be hanging off the rafters. Can you imagine an entire Meshuggah crowd pounding their chest and getting all worked up? It will be nothing short of epic!!

New Trailer Park Boys Available on Netflix

Netflix came through and picked up the 2 new seasons of Trailer Park Boys! Seasons 8 & 9 will be available for streaming starting March 31st. This comes after Netflix struck an international deal with Entertainment One,
"We're thrilled that the boys are back and that their loyal fans will have full-access to all their antics on Netflix robust platform. The Trailer Park Boys are Canadian legends and their brand has an incredible fan following at home and around the world. We are looking forward to seeing their global success explode as Netflix rolls out fresh content and old favourites. Netflix is undoubtedly the perfect home for the boys and we're delighted to partner with Netflix to export the trailer park to audiences all over the world.," said Patrice Théroux, who oversees global Film operations for eOne, distributors of the franchise.

The boys haven't filmed any new episodes since 2007 and their last movie was in 2009 with "Countdown to Liquor Day". In addition to the series, Netflix will debut three standalone specials: Community Service Special, Swearnet Special, Trailer Park Boys Xmas and two all-new feature films: Trailer Park Boys 3: Don't Legalize It and Swearnet, which will come to Netflix following their theatrical premieres this year. Don't Legalize It hit theaters in Canada on 4/20 but I haven't heard of release date for the states yet. Either way there's a ton of TPB shit dropping this year! Julian, Bubble, and Ricky have been busy.  Ricky recently harvested an enormous weed crop which he has successfully hidden in the walls of his trailer, Julian has opened a bar and gym in his trailer and Bubbles is in the process of opening what he calls a 'Shed and Breakfast' business.

Red Band Trailer for "A Million Ways to Die in the West"

Seth McFarlane seems to have caught the acting bug and his new comedy "A Million Ways to Die In the West" looks, well, it looks like something Seth McFarlane would do. I'm not sure what that means but after watching the trailer it was hard not to say, "Come on. Really?" I'll admit I'm a fan of Seth but this movie looks pretty bad. McFarlane plays Albert a poor farmer who begins to fall for the mysterious new woman in town, played by Charlize Theron. He must put his newfound courage to the test when her husband, a notorious gun slinger, announces his arrival. The title plays on the joke of back in the days of the wild west there's a million ways to die out on the frontier. As the trailer shows it's a running gag throughout the movie. A Million Ways to Die in the West hits theaters on May 30th and stars Seth McFarlane, Giovanni Ribisi, Charlize Theron , Amanda Seyfried , Liam Neeson, Neil Patrick Harris.

Trailer Park Boys 3: Don't Legalize It

Check out the brand new trailer for the 3rd TPB movie. It picks up where the last movie left off in 2009, "Out of jail and broke, Julian concocts an outrageously greasy scheme to get rich and, to make it even greasier, he will have to deliver his product to his arch-enemy, Cyrus, who's waiting in Montreal to close the dirty deal. Meanwhile, Ricky's dope growing business is under a major threat when the government announces a plan to legalize marijuana, so he heads to Ottawa to make an impassioned plea - in the way only Ricky can - Say No to Decriminalization. Bubbles reluctantly joins them on his own quest to claim an inheritance left to him by his long-lost parents. Hot on their trail is Ex-Park Supervisor Lahey and Randy, who have never given up on the dream of seeing the three reprobates in jail once and for all; and they will stop at nothing, including a wild drunken episode on Parliament Hill."
