I was watching TV last night and this commercial came on and all I could do was shake my head. It wasn't the fact that Queen had sold out and put their song in a commercial, it's 2011, every great band has been raped at this point. What got me was the song choice. Why did Value City Furniture choose this particular Queen song? Why did VCF choose any Queen song for that matter. I can't think of any Queen song that could be used to sell furniture. Sure 'We Are the Champions' and 'We Will Rock You' are used all the time, but even those songs wouldn't make sense in the context of a furniture ad. Come to think of it, there aren't any songs that would make sense in a furniture commercial. That's why every one that you see has some horribly produced, generic music in the back. Not Brian fucking May and Queen. I just would of loved to have been a fly on the wall during that meeting. Plus, look at what it's saying, 'I want it all and I want it now'. Is someone going to walk in and say, "I want it all and I want it now. Every piece. I don't have room for it but if it's good enough for Queen it's good enough for me."
Just watch the commercial
