I've featured him on the podcast a few times and you can find the cover of his album "Weird World of Blowfly" on my 'Love Gravy' podcast. Blowfly was the original foul mouthed singer/MC. Some of your parents may have bought Blowfly records back in the day. He existed in a time when the party album was a big thing. Be it comedians or musicians everybody had their own "party" album back in the '70s. Blowfly took it to a whole new level though and I guarantee you've heard him sampled in rap songs over the last 20 years. Little known fact is that Blowfly, real name Clarence Reid, was responsible for writing some of the biggest songs of the '70 including songs for KC & The Sunshine band. A documentary was made about Clarence's life and is being shown in select cities around the country. Check out the film site here for dates and times and watch the trailer below.
