I've always said that golf is without a doubt the hardest sport out there. Hitting a tiny ball with a stick into a hole in the ground takes some skill and I'm not being sarcastic. It takes a lot of talent to be able to master the game. Now image having to play with a 5 iron impaled thru your chest. That's kicking it up a notch!!
A 48yr. old Texas man is in hospital after a fight on the golf course got a little nasty. Details are still a little sketchy at this point because both parties involved aren't giving a whole lot of information to the police. At this point cops are saying that 48yr. old Clay Carpenter and a group of friends confronted a group of golfers who were playing to slow in front of them. Words were exchanged and things got out of control after someone snapped a club in half and drove it thru Carpenter's chest. Police say that they still have no idea who started the fight or who did the stabbing. Police received a call for a man bleeding on a golf course and when asked what happen the caller told them the man fell on a club and had already lost up to 2 pints of blood. A total of 7 people were involved in the fight but no one has been charged yet. Carpenter is at home now after a nine day hospital stay and tells reporters he can no longer lift his feet and may lose his right leg if his muscles don't regenerate. A local resident of the gated golf community where this happened told reporters, "A fight over golf is sort of ridiculous. You can't take golf that serious."
I have to agree with the guy on that one but I will say this, golf would be a whole lot better with a little blood.
