Over the years Chef Boyardee has become a staple of American food culture. Just about everybody out there has a had a bowl of Spaghetti's O's and those little meatballs made of mystery meat. Classic!!
The chef and his assistants have been working hard in the Boyardee Test Kitchens to come up with a new mouth watering flavor and it looks like they've struck gold. However, the test market down in Florida doesn't seemed real thrilled.
A woman down in Brevard County Florida found a dead spider in her can of Boyardee ravioli. Victoria Harrah has been eating the canned ravioli for years but was disgusted by what she found,
"I took my ravioli, dunked it in the sauce and all of a sudden, when I bit into it, it was crunchy. Once I spit it out, I saw the legs, once I saw the legs, I started screaming, throwing up, saying to my fiance, 'Oh my God, Oh my God, I just ate a spider!'"
Harrah called the customer assistance line to complain but the people on the other end at Chef Boyardee just tried to play it off. They told her that sometimes the meat can become crunchy and it happens all the time. When she persisted they said they would fly a representative down to Florida and take the can to their people. That's when Harrah contacted local health authorities who told her to freeze the can and not let go of it. Chef Boyardee said in a statement that they take these matters very serious and will get to the bottom of it. Harrah doesn't want a large sum of money from them, just an apology and to find out where the spider came from. She would like her money back though, she's not paying for bugs.
