Flight of the Conchords Meet The Muppets

Flight of the Conchords very own Bret McKenzie has signed on to write new music for the next Muppet movie. Not surprising news considering he won an Oscar for Best Original Song, "Man or Muppet", that appeared in last summers blockbuster. The news was confirmed by Muppet producer Todd Lieberman in a recent interview, Lieberman also said that filming would begin early next year in and around downtown London. The break out 2011 hit featured Jason Segel and Amy Adams but early reports say that Segel won't be joining the cast for a sequel. The Muppets grossed over $150 million at theaters last summer, producers said that doing a sequel was a no brainer. Earlier this week rumors leaked that "Inglorious Bastards" star Christoph Waltz would make an appereance in the sequel as an Interpol agent. Sounds like Kermit and the gang will be taking on Scotland Yard in their new adventures. Former Conchord McKenzie has been staying busy since the FoTC hiatus, he'll be making cameos in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" and will be starring in the newest project from Jerusha Hess(Napolean Dynamite), "Austenland".
