Dave Grohl to Form The Sound City Players

I know it seems like I've been posting lots of stories about Dave Grohl recently but the guy just won't quit. I mentioned a few weeks back that the Foo Fighters are taking a bit of a break but Grohl is still going strong. Working with Queens of the Stone Age on their new album and now this, the Sound City Players. The Sound City Players is Grohl's new super group that will make it's debut at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Grohl told Billboard in a recent interview that he'll be attending Sundance to premiere his new documentary, "Sound City", about the infamous recording studio of the same name. That won't be Grohl's only premiere that night, he'll also be rolling out the Sound City Players featuring artists and musicians who also appeared in the documentary. Some of those featured include Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Stevie Nicks, Metallica and more. No confirmation has been given as to whether or not those people will play in the live show but knowing Dave Grohl he won't pull any punches when it comes to getting the cream of the crop up on stage. Grohl didn't say if this was a one time thing or if the band would be making any other stops for live shows. The man has a lot on his plate but I'm sure he won't disappoint.
