New Biz Markie Album

Good news for all the hip hop heads out there, Biz Markie is getting ready to drop his first new album in over nine years. The Biz has been keeping busy outside of the music world with appearances on the kids show "Yo Gabba Gabba" but feels it's time to make a return to his roots. Biz told Billboard that the new LP will be a blend of cover songs sung by him like he did with the Beastie Boys and Prince Paul and "real rap records".
The Biz will put his own spin on tracks from Joe Cocker, Steve Miller Band, and Elton John but hasn't said specifically what tracks he'll be doing.

"I'm doing it now, doing the ground work, doing it slowly. It's going to be timeless. I've got a couple people (guesting) but they told me not to say their names. It's gonna be lots of fun."

As of now Markie says that he's got half the album done and plans to hit the road with it but wants to concentrate on actually finishing it before setting any dates. He also plans to start development on a new kids show for TV featuring some antics from his own childhood,

"There's a lot of interaction with the kids and me," he says. "It's like all the old school games we used to do in the hood. It's gonna be crazy."
