Every time I order a pizza the thought crosses my mind about how much I'd like to smell just like that hot, ready to eat pizza pie. No, not really. That's actually really gross but leave it to the think tank over at Pizza Hut to come up with the new fragrance craze of 2013.
Pizza Hut has been trying to expand their brand up in the great white north and decided to take to the walls of Facebook for a good old fashioned media blitz. Pizza Hut challenged the Canadians to get more than 100,000 fans on it page and if they did they'd throw in a little surprise for some of it's select customers.
Pizza Hut Canada marketing executive Beverly D'Cruz came up with the idea of distributing pizza scented perfume to a select 110 customers as a thank you for showing support. Those selected don't know yet that they've been chosen, the surprise comes when they open their mailbox and find the perfume bottle.
When D'Cruz was asked if we'll be seeing pizza perfume on the shelves of stores she said only time will tell. D'Cruz never mentioned how the fragrance came to be but I have a source on the inside. What they did was force one guy to cook pizzas in an enclosed kitchen for 24 straight hours and when that time was up the scent scientists rang out his shirt into 110 different perfume bottles. Not really, I just made that part up but the sound of Pizza Hut scented perfume conjures those kinds of images. Again, this is only available to customers in Canada so we'll just have to wait.
