Beer to be Sold in Juice Pouches

Remember those pain in the ass Capri sun pouches? Struggling every time to get that god damn straw in the hole without spilling everywhere was well worth the prize inside. The sweet, sweet taste of Capri Sun. Now imagine trying to line up that straw after you've had about 10 beers. No thanks, I'll stick with the tried and true pull tab.
Lawmakers in Connecticut are trying to make it legal for beer manufacturers to sell their products in a "pliable pouch" much like that of the Capri Sun. No real concrete reason was given for why they want to use the pouch other than Connecticut is the only state that doesn't allow alcohol to be served in a such a way. Other products like sauces, laundry detergents, and juices use the pouch method so why not beer? Connecticut's Dept. of Energy and Environment Protection has a good reason, the pouches can not be recycled after their used. They say that allowing the pouches would be counter productive to all the work they've done to boost the state's rate of reuse and recycle. The state's General Assembly will hold a vote this week but say not to get your hopes up, the pouch probably won't happen. If it did though you'd see a lot of drunk people struggling with that straw until they fuck it and just jam it through the bottom.
CBS Connecticut has the story
