Man Arrested For DUI On Lawn Mower

When you run out of beer sometimes it's best to just call it night and turn in. Or you could hop on your riding mower and take a ride down to the liquor store.
Police in Des Moines, IA came upon 46 yr. old Billy Eugene Williams this past Wednesday afternoon as he was taking a his Cub Cadet riding mower for a beer run. Reports state that Williams was riding down the center of the road about 4:40pm Wednesday afternoon when an officer spotted him. When they pulled over the mower it was obvious Williams had been drinking. The arresting officer noticed he had blood shot eyes and was slurring his speech. He asked Williams if he had been drinking and Williams told him straight up that he had drank about a 12 pack and was headed to get more. Williams could barely stand so officers skipped the field sobriety test and went straight for the breathalyzer. Williams blew double the legal limit and was charged with operating while intoxicated and failure to have a valid license or permit while operating a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Polk County Jail, where he is being held on a $1,465 bond.
The Des Moines Register has the story
