Anthrax Contributes To Game of Thrones Mixtape, Recording New Album

HBO is getting ready to release another Game of Thrones mixtape featuring rock and hip hop artists creating music based on themes and storylines from the show. The last mixtape featured big name acts like Big Boi from Outkast, Common, Wale, and now it looks like Anthrax is hoping on board for the next installment. Scott Ian sent out a picture on Twitter the other day of him in the studio with the hash tag #CatchTheThrone. The same hash tag has been used in the past to promote the album on social media. Along with Anthrax, the new mixtape will feature a track from Killswitch Engage. Sounds pretty gnarly!!
Anthrax is already in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2011 album "Worship Music". For the most part the band is keeping things secret with the Game of Thrones songs but recently sat down with Canada's "Metal Voice" to talk about the new album,

"Some of the new music that's been coming out for us has been so inspiring. It's, like, I remember telling Scott, we had about 12 songs [in various stages of completion], and I told him, I said, 'Dude, now the good stuff's coming out of me.' And he's, like, 'Really? But these 12 are awesome.' I said, 'Nah, dude. Wait until you hear the next batch. For this new album, I've been lucky enough to draw from the 'Worship Music' experience and really build on that. So these newer tunes are just… Man, if that record was, like… How can I put this? If that was like 'Led Zeppelin IV', then this one is definitely gonna be like 'Physical Graffiti'. The reason why I said that is because have such an abundance of songs. 'Physical Graffiti' was a double record. We have enough material to have a double record at this point too."
