Apparently the Russians have the market cornered on flesh eating street drugs and have been nice enough to share it with us across the pond. Authorities are reporting the Russian drug "Krokodil" has been showing up in cocaine and heroine pulled off American streets. US authorities have found trace amounts in drugs seized from Europe believing it to be used as a cutting agent. If you're not hip to Krokodil or crocodile, it's basically like meth in the sense that it can be made with household items, a few chemicals, and a little chemistry. It's injected like heroin but the damage is almost immediate. Doctors are calling it a raw form of Desomorphine Users can be identified by blackened veins and rotting flesh, no joke. The chemicals react with the skin making it basically fall or rot off and leave the skin looking scaley like a crocodile.
Russia is facing an epidemic of heroin abuse and now have to accomodate the onslaught of Krok victims. Doctors say that when they treat the addicts it's easy to spot Krok use. A strong smell of Iodine,one of the chemicals used, and open sores are usually the first spotted. One user admits that if you miss the vein on injection that it means instant abcess.
