What happened to the good old days when you met people on-line for sex or some kind of awkward encounter. Now people are using their on-line dates for getaway drivers. A South Wales woman learned the hard way over the weekend that her date had more than just hooking up on his mind.
The 23yr. old Leah Gibbs met Adam Minton on Facebook and the two agreed to meet up for a date. She had thoughts of a fancy dinner or a fun night out. Instead things starting off with Minton stopping by an off track betting station and robbing it. Gibbs knew something was wrong when he told her to stay in the car while he ran in real quick. Minton emerged with a knife in one hand and the cash in his other hand. He ordered Gibbs to drive off and once they returned to his house he tried to tie her up. Police arrived shortly after they did and both were taken to jail. Police released the girl once Minton admitted he used her and she had no idea.
Again, don't meet people on-line and get bummed out when it doesn't turn out to be everything you hoped for, just be happy they didn't kill you. Face palms all around.
