Apparently zoos over in Switzerland are waaay cooler than the zoos here in America. Swiss zoos have raves and even the dolphins like to get high. Well, not sure if they liked it but they took enough to overdose. In what might be one of the stranger stories I've read in awhile toxicology reports have surfaced that confirm 2 dolphins who died last year at a Swiss zoo had heroin in their systems.
The zoo located in Connyland, Switzerland hosted a rave last summer that was open to the general public. This meant that anybody could just walk into the zoo all geeked out and hang out in the animal exhibits. Buprenorphin, a heroin substitute, was present in the dolphins’ urine and both Shadow and Chelmers died as a result of ingesting the drug. Marine biologists and dolphin experts both agreed that there would never be any reason to give an underwater mammal any form of opiates. So the drugs came from an outside source, most likely during the rave. Officials at the zoo originally believed the loud thumping music from speakers just 100yds. away during the rave stressed them out to death but changed their tune once the urine analysis came back. I've always heard dolphins were more into meth but that might have been an urban legend.
