I hate to make fun of this story but it's just to bizarre. People putting their kids in danger is no laughing matter especially when those kids are strapped to the hood of a car driving down the street.
A Fort Wayne, IN couple is in custody after police pulled them over for using their children as hood ornaments. This past Monday at 5:30pm police received calls about a family leaving a liquor store with their kids tied down to the hood. The driver, Aaron S. Stefanski, 29, of Fort Wayne, had a blood alcohol content of .17% and was charged with three counts of operating while intoxicated and one count of neglect of a dependent. His passenger, Jessica A. Clark, 29, also of Fort Wayne, was charged with one count of neglect of a dependent. Officers reported none of the children - ages 4, 5, 6 and 7 - appeared to be hurt. Three of the children were Stefanski's, one belonged to Clark. Hey, at that age they should know how to hang on. Unreal! The kids were turned over to Child Protective Services. Witnesses on the scene say the couple was visibly drunk and others were yelling at them to stop the car.
"I couldn't believe it! They had this strap across their legs. They were squirming to get out. They didn't know what to do. And I told the people in the car, 'Don't do that!'," said Bonita Gorsuch.
The incident remains under investigation between the county sheriff and Child Protective Services.
