Drive Thru Bar
My first reaction when I watched the video above was the driver had to be wasted. It's not everyday somebody in a pick-up truck comes barrelling through the front wall of a bar. I figured at most it was a drunk patron leaving the bar and accidentally put the car in drive instead of reverse. Nope. Turns out the driver was in a diabetic shock and lost control of the truck.
Customers inside of Gordie's Place up in Little Canada, MN are lucky to be alive after a freak accident this past Wednesday. Bartender Pat Sazenski was just shooting the shit with some customers when he looked outside and saw a telephone pole falling to the ground and then he saw a truck smash thru the bar.
"I didn't know what was going on. ... The wall exploded, the truck came in," he said. "I'm just glad these guys are alive."
The owner's son Jim Cossack was out back behind the bar doing some work when he heard the screams, ran in and started pulling people out from under the truck. Turns out the 51yr. old female driver was spotted by witnesses swerving and driving erratically moments before she crashed through the pole then the wall. The driver along with 4 patrons were taken to a local hospital from their injuries and 2 of them were in serious condition. As of today all but one of them have been released. Cossack spoke with the local news crew and told them that while he was rescuing people his girlfriend turned out the gas and water lines which had been ruptured during the crash. The truck has been removed from the bar and no plans as of yet if the it will remain open while under construction.
