NIN Will Re-Unite For New Album
Trent Reznor confirmed all the rumors yesterday on his official website that Nine Inch Nails is getting back together and working on all new material. Reznor is putting together an all new line-up consisting of former NIN players including Alessandro Cortini(keyboards) and drummer Ilan Rubin. They'll be joined by new members Eric Avery(bass) from Jane's Addiction, guitarist Adrian Belew from King Crimson, and Puscifer keyboardist Josh Eustis. Reznor says there's already some big things in the works,
"Nine Inch Nails are touring this year, the first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the U.S. this fall and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014."
Reznor said the idea of a revival came after hanging out and jamming with Adrian Belew,
"I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked – which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows."
He also says that this won't affect anything dealing with his new project How to Destroy Angels which features Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig, Rob Sheridan and Atticus Ross. The new Angels hits stores on March 5th with a tour to follow starting in April.
