Rumors have been circulating for years now about a movie based on the life and events of one of the most gruesome men to ever walk the face of the earth, Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski. If you had HBO back in the '90s you might remember the Iceman documentaries, one of the most fascinating and terrifying interviews ever conducted, in my opinion. Kuklinski worked as a mob hit man for over 30 years until he was arrested in 1988. During that time he became one of the most feared men in all of organized crime. This is a man who didn't give a fuck, he would kill anyone anywhere. Nobody did it better than the Iceman and all the crime families knew it.
It was only a matter of time before they made a movie about the Iceman and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Judging from the trailer alone it seems to stray from the stories that Kuklinski talked about in the interviews. Then again, this is Hollywood's version. They probably waited until he was dead to make this for a reason. There would be a lot of producers hiding and fearing for their life.
The Iceman Confesses stars Michael Shannon as Kuklinski, Winonna Ryder as his wife, James Franco, and Ray Liota. It made some runs at a few festivals last year but no firm nation wide release date has been set.
