AC/DC's Malcolm Young Has Dementia

Rumors have been floating around that AC/DC is hanging it up after many years of rocking out. Some even said it was because founding member Malcolm Young was suffering from dementia. The band never really came out and said it was true until last week. Family members of Malcolm made a statement saying that the rumors are true, rythm guitarist Malcolm Young, brother of lead guitarist Angus, is in fact suffering from early on set dementia. Back in April the band came out and said they would be taking a break for awhile but gave no real reason. As of right now the band plans to continue on without Malcolm and release their 17th album, Rock or Bust, making it the first album in 41 years without him. Young's family released a statement to the press saying,
“Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning to the band. AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of Rock or Bust in 2015. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on Rock or Bust and will accompany the band on tour.“

The fact that AC/DC is still making music and touring after all these years is pretty impressive but eventually they were going to start getting old enough to were things like dementia would slow them down. People has the full story
